Important Aftercare
While everyone heals differently it is very important to follow these instructions for 3-4 weeks so your tattoo can heal properly and be kept in the best sanitary conditions!
ARE YOU HAVING AN EMERGENCY? If you are feeling any burning or allergic like reactions please remove your sandierm patch, rinse the area with cool water and use non-scented soap, rinse and gently pat dry with a paper towel. Discard the paper towel after. Let air dry, once the area is fully dry apply unscented lotion. If you are still experiencing any burning or allergic reactions please head to the emergency room!
No Sweating
For one week no working out, no gym, or hiking or participating in any activities that may cause you to sweat. Sweating during this time may lead to infection.
No Swimming
No swimming, no hot tubs, no being in the lake, no baths for 2-3 months. It’s very important not to put your skin under conditions where the pigment would lift. You can shower but no scrubbing.
No Sunshine
For the first 30 days do not expose your fresh tattoo to direct sunshine as it will affect the pigment and fade the tattoo. Your skin is also very sensitive at this time. After 30 days apply sunscreen.
No Scratching
For first timers and avid tattooers, you must not itch the good itch! Doing so will create scars and lift pigment, which also allows bacteria into your skin.
Aftercare at home
With Second Skin (seniderm/viewguard)
1. Keep the Second Skin on for 4-7 days if possible.
2. While the Second Skin is on you do not need to wash or lotion it. Try to keep it out of direct sunlight and avoid excess sweating.
3. Over time you will see the tattoo sort of blur or develop ink sacs. This is totally normal and it is just blood and plasma leaking from your tattoo but getting trapped in the wrap. Please do not poke or drain anything bubbles.
4. When you’re ready to take off the wrap, it is best to take it off in the shower so you can gently rinse and wash the tattoo with non-scented liquid soap. You need to wash your tattoo twice a day.
5. Pat dry your tattoo with a clean paper towel and let it air dry for 15 min before applying non-scented lotion.
6. By now your tattoo should be mostly healed, moisturize your new tattoo with non-scented lotion 2-3 times a day.
